Velodrome frontrunner emerges as GB team names on sports scoreboard

Carillion has been tipped as the major contender for the London 2012 Olympic velodrome, as Team GB experienced success on the track this weekend.According to sources cited by Building.co.uk, the contractor is close to signing a contract with the Olympic Delivery Authority for the 6,000-seater building.Designed by Hopkins Architects and Expedition Engineering, the velodrome will house indoor cycling events.

New LED scoreboards for Oriole Park

Baltimores Oriole Park baseball ground has been installed with two new LED scoreboards ahead of the new season. The larger LED scoreboard cost in excess of $5 million and is state-of-the-art with 472,000 pixels displayed on the 2,000 square foot surface. The screens were completed by the Maryland Stadium Authority, which also installed a Jumbotron and a selection of smaller video boards around the Camden Yard ground.
