Factory signs for new Welsh venture

Factory signs for new Welsh venture The construction of a new manufacturing works in South Wales is set to provide an estimated 500 new jobs as well as new potential for factory signs.

Fleming Developments UK plans to create a plant that will construct pre-fabricated homes for the construction industry.

The factory, on Baglan Industrial Estate, will be more than 600 metres long including office space and car parking facilities for more than 300 vehicles.

Commenting on the impact the factory could have on the area's economy, council leader Derek Vaughan said it was "excellent news" for Neath Port Talbot.

"It is an exciting project which will provide a considerable boost to the economy and I look forward to work starting on site," he said.

Plans will be set before the local planning committee next week.

If it receives the green light, the factory will be developed on land between Moor Road and Baglan Way, south of the former Panasonic factory which shut in 2006.
