We have continued to use Polycomp displays in our ever expanding quest to inform our customers of ferry times and boarding information and we will continue to do so. With such reliable units service and support is rarely needed but there service and support is un rivalled.

LED display driver developer announces second quarter results

LED display driver developer announces second quarter results Leadis Technology, a developer of LED display drivers, has announced its results for the end of the second quarter of 2008.

The company's revenue during this period was $5.9 million (£2.9 million) which did not reach its guidance of $7 million (£3.5 million) plus or minus ten per cent.

Gross margin for the second quarter was zero per cent.

"Second quarter revenue fell short of our guidance, also impacting gross margins," said Leadis' president and CEO, Tony Alvarez.

"The shortfalls were primarily due to a slower than expected ramp in our [LED] display driver business."

Revenue outlook for the third quarter of 2008 is mixed, with it expected to remain flat compared with the second quarter, according to Leadis' executive vice president of marketing, Paul Novell.

A lower revenue outlook for the rest of the year is likely because the company's newer LED display driver programs are not ramping as quickly as expected, he added.
