LED display lights up Underglobe

LED display lights up Underglobe An LED display recently lit up the Underglobe, a nightclub beneath the Globe Theatre in London.

The light show provided support to DJs Sean Escoffery, Lemar and DJ Spoony who were playing at the event, reports Projection, Lights and Staging News.

White Light supplied the LED display which was controlled by wireless DMX technology, and the company's lighting director Steve Richardson said he wanted to create a "classy, exciting evening, which slowly revealed a bit more of itself to the guests as they moved through the various spaces".

For the show, he extended the existing stage in the club and built a seven-by-six metre box truss around it, with a separate box to allow him to work around the venue's pillars and coving.

The Underglobe is big enough to hold events for 400 people, and features a grand staircase that descends from the entrance balcony into the main space.

It is located under the Globe, which is a reconstruction of the theatre where Shakespeare worked.
