LED panels make television appearance
LED panels have been used to light up the stage in an upcoming television series.
Hole In The Wall, a ten-part BBC series, will see two teams with three spandex-clad celebrities taking part, reports LEDs magazine.
Each will have seven seconds to jump through a tracking wall containing a number of differently-shaped holes, and failure will lead to them splashing head first into a swimming pool.
The show is to use various forms of LED lighting, including curtains, strips and bricks, but there were difficulties involved for lighting designer Tom Kinane as the swimming pool installed in the studio meant the loss of six feet of headroom, requiring thought to go into lighting the set elements and action.
Part of the solution was to arrange 12 LED panels in a four by three fashion around the perimeter of the studio to provide a moving backdrop.
Hole In The Wall has been referred to as the human version of the computer game Tetris.
