LED sign for Democratic National Convention
An LED sign will direct delegates at the 45th Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, from August 25th to 28th.
It will mostly display closed-captioned news, announcements and directions for delegates at the convention, using a 60-minute loop containing the various types of content, as well as the capacity to interrupt scheduled playback to give live updates or make urgent announcements.
Support for the project comes from advertising which will feature on the sign for a portion of the air time.
The LED sign will measure 44 feet by 31 feet and will be mounted above the entrance to the Colorado Convention Centre.
The convention will see the formal announcement of the Democrat Party's candidate for the presidency, widely expected to be Barack Obama, after he won more delegates than Hillary Clinton.
Speculation has also been mounting over who will be Mr Obama's running mate for vice president, with some commentators saying he will make the announcement before the convention.
