Military to use LED lighting
LED lights are so efficient and robust they are going to be used by US and European military groups, industry experts report.
Designed by Oxley, the LED lights are expected to be introduced into military bunkers and hospitals.
LED technology has been chosen over traditional lighting sources due to its energy efficiency.
In addition, LED lights tend to be less bulky and more easily installed in confined areas such as bunkers.
Light quality has also added to the appeal of the technology as it helps colours appear more realistic.
This can have profound effects during operations and medical procedures when surgeons are identifying organs.
Martin Sloan, chief executive officer of Oxley, stated that the company's LED lighting products are helping to modernise military bunkers.
"We are keeping our military shelter customers a step ahead with proven field experience that no other shelter integrated LED light manufacturer can claim," he said.
The company also provides LED night vision lights to the armed forces.
