Testimonials

Our new electronic displays really help, before the displays, the visitors made their way to the nearest ride or the most popular. This created large queues on some, but no waiting on other rides, but with the introduction on the boards visitors are better infromed, making a more enjoyable day for all

Production helps to display LED energy efficiency

Production helps to display LED energy efficiency The Boxford Masques' biannual community production was the perfect opportunity to display LED energy efficiency.

Lawrence T Doyle, the lighting designer for the event, was able to reduce the production's power consumption by a huge 90 per cent, reports LSI Online News.

The production, of Knight & Day, was staged over a week in a natural amphitheatre on top of Hoar Hill in Boxford, Berkshire, which also provided the chance to display LED longevity.

Mr Doyle is a freelance lighting designer and is also the production manager at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury which was the event's producer.

He wanted to find a "greener" solution to light the show.

The production featured a 20-metre wide, ten-metre deep stage which was designed by Sam Pine and was built in the amphitheatre, which has the added advantage of heavy natural tree coverage.

Extra resonance and texture was added to the drama as the sunlight faded and the LEDs became more prominent.
