Major casino gets LED lights
A major Californian casino has been installed with LED lights in a bid to save money on energy bills.
Harrah's Rincon Resort and Casino, in San Diego, recently replaced traditional lights with LED lighting in a move that is expected to reduce bills by approximately £124,000 per year.
The technology has been installed in the Casino's lifts and outdoor lights in a major refit.
LED lights cut the amount of carbon dioxide, sulphur and nitrogen being released into the atmosphere because less fuel is needed to power them.
Brendan O'Kane, property operations manager for Harrah's Rincon, reported that he is pleased the technology benefits the environment.
"Our goal was to save energy in a way that would not diminish our guest experience," he said.
"This is really a great win for all of us because not only are we saving money here at the resort, we are reducing greenhouse gas emissions by taking less electricity from the grid."
Harrah's is considered the largest entertainment company globally.
