Florida church 'excited' by green LED lighting

A Baptist church in Florida has opened its doors for the first time ever showing off the LED technology inside to its congregation. The First Baptist Church of Marco Island includes a 500-seat worship centre as well as children's space, youth rooms and multi-purpose areas, Live Design Online reports.And to complement to new building designers Brawner and Associates used a striking wall behind the pulpit on which to create backgrounds using LED lights.

£600k LED screen set for convention centre

A giant LED screen costing a massive £670,000 is to be installed at a major convention centre in Pakistan.Government officials have approved the new technology at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, the Pakistan Daily Times reports.The screen, which will measure 16ft by 24ft with an eight millimetre pixel pitch, will replace an existing solid-state screen that was deemed too small for the uses of the centre.

Mosque extension offers new signage potential

The construction of a massive extension in one of the world's biggest mosques could provide new opportunities for manufacturers of LED displays.Forthcoming building work on the Grand Mosque in the Saudi Arabian holy city of Mecca will be capable of holding some 500,000 more worshippers, the Arab News reports.Built under orders from Saudi Arabian King Abdullah Mecca, the extension will create more space for prayer in the northern sides of the building, mayor Osama Al-Bar revealed.
