Greeting cards could feature LED screens

Greeting cards could feature LED screens Consumers could soon be able to send a greeting card incorporating an LED screen.

Developers have been designing cards which emit LED lighting while others have been incorporating LED screens into their creations.

In the future, greetings cards could feature technology currently found in mobile phones which would enable them to bear video messages.

Valerie Cooper, executive vice president of the Greeting Card Association, has stated that advancement in technology has helped card creators become more inventive.

"Innovative technology is allowing greeting card publishers to be much more creative and is allowing card senders to become more involved in developing exactly the card they imagined," she said.

"What hasn't changed is the special me-to-you connection of cards and their continued popularity with Americans of all ages."

Design Design recently won the Best New Product award at the 2008 National Stationary Show for its range of cards featuring LED lights.
