LED signage for 'new-wave' Chelsea chippy
LED signage has helped to make one extraordinary ethical Chelsea chip shop stand out from the crowd.
With a fish and chip takeaway on the ground floor and a sophisticated fish restaurant on the first floor, leading restaurateur Tom Aiken's latest venture, Tom's Place, combines tradition with ethics boasting biodegradable boxes and cutlery made from corn starch.
An impressive electronic board, provided by leading LED manufacturer Polycomp, is also another sustainable feature, displaying the London eatery's extensive fish menu.
The striking board positioned directly behind the serving counter allows customers to easily pick out their chip shop choice.
What's more, the screen also fits in with the ethical stance of the business, being energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
"It's a very clear and precise message and it stands out from just having a plain sign plus on an environmental level is uses less power," Tom explained.
He added that he had received many positive comments from customers who said that the sign contrasted effectively with the decor of the restaurant.
Commenting on the installation, Jeremy Harwood, managing director of Polycomp, said: "I'm proud to be able to say that our displays save energy and are at the forefront of the LED technology."
"We were delighted to provide Tom's Place with such a fantastic sign for his new eco-friendly restaurant - the ethical slant seems to be where everyone is heading."
