Bluebirds sing praises of new stadium
Cardiff City's new £46 million stadium is "bang on course" for its opening next year, the club has revealed.
Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale made the remarks to BBC Sport following reports that court action taken against the Bluebirds by the Langston corporation, regarding £24 million of loan notes, could jeopardise the project's future.
However, according to the Cardiff City, construction company Laing O'Rourke and stadium developers PMG, the stadium will open for the 2009/10 season.
"There was a lot of uncertainty before Christmas and that was disappointing, but this is a new beginning for Cardiff City and Cardiff Blues," Mr Ridsdale explained.
The ground, which will be shared with the Cardiff Blues rugby side, offers huge potential for LED signage for both football and rugby matches.
New facilities for the 25,000-seater stadium also include a new 2,250-capacity members' club as well as corporate hospitality amenities.
