Burke High School make the grade with new scoreboard
A new scoreboard has been installed by Burke High School as part of improvements to student athletic facilities.
The display is capable of projecting a photo finish that will help decide a winner in case of any closely fought track events at Burke Stadium.
"The scoreboard is awesome because it's instantaneous on the times, you don't have to worry about having a stopwatch anymore," said Don Perry of Heartland Track.
"You get done running and you look right up there and see what your time was, you don't have to sit there and worry about what place you got," added Sutton High's Randa Rose.
A new field and track has also been fitted ahead of this year's state meet to ensure athletes are well catered for with high quality facilities. The event will feature around 2,600 entrants across various disciplines, with 20,000 spectators expected to attend and cheer on the competitors.
