Donation helps Mustangs upgrade new scoreboard
A $200,000 donation will enable a minor league baseball team to upgrade plans for a new scoreboard.
Billings Mustangs will double the proposed size of the screen at Dehler Park after receiving the money from Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co.
The donation, which was expected to be approved last night (April 28th) by Billings City Council, will also see the venue name added to the scoreboard and improve its support structure.
The Mustangs are scheduled to move into the new stadium ahead of the 2008 Pioneer League season after they competed for the final time at the ageing Cobb Field, which had been their home since 1948.
The $12.5 million project will have a capacity of 3,500 people and will be used for other events in the local community as well as baseball.
The Mustangs, established in 1947, won three consecutive league titles in the early 1990s, while they most recently secured the divisional title in 2004.
