Electronic display adds to rodeo magic
Audience members at the 85th annual Sidney Iowa Rodeo will be able to keep up with the fast-paced action on a large electronic display.
It will also be used to display scoring, as contestants from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association compete in traditional events.
Spectators will also be entertained by professional rodeo clowns and bullfighters, as well as the champion equestrian drill team The Two County Dusters.
Performances begin at 20:00 each night from July 29th to August 2nd.
Ticket prices range from $12 to $23 and discounts are available for various groups including Boy and Girl scouts and US veterans and their spouses.
The rodeo has been running since 1923, when Henry and Earl Tackett decided to spice up the Old Threshers & GAR Reunion being held in Sidney with a rodeo.
In contrast to this year's modern event, with its grandstands and electronic display, the original event's arena was made up of fencing, buggies and Model T cars.
