High school grabs new sports scoreboard
A new $200,000 scoreboard will be fitted at Bainbridge High in Georgia, USA as the school attempts to make Centennial Field "the place to be on Friday nights".
Four local businesses joined forces to pay $100,000 towards the cost of the video replay scoreboard, while Kirbo Charitable Trust offered the same amount in a grant.
Football coach Ed Pilcher hailed the decision to install a 13 feet by 9 feet screen, which will showcase video replay and live action video at the 10,000-seater stadium.
The six time state championships winner said: "This is going to be something special for this community."
Ben Reynolds, a player for Bainbridge, added: "Even more people will come to our games. We had a great year last year and we're expected to be even better next year."
The Decatur County scoreboard will be used for numerous other activities aside from football, including soccer and graduation ceremonies.
