LED display for Oregon ducks
The University of Oregon is getting a new LED display football scoreboard at its Autzen Stadium.
Funding for the football scoreboard was gained mainly through a $67 million (£33.5 million) marketing agreement with IMG College, reports the Register Guard.
The LED display is 33 feet high and 89 feet across and replaces an old scoreboard that was just 24 feet by 42 feet.
Anthony James Partners were consulted by the athletic department on the project, and the company's Michael Rowe said the scoreboard was as "big and beautiful" as some of the systems used by professional teams.
It would contain "the most advanced technology of the day, as far as LED goes" claimed Rowe, who added that thanks to its brightness it would be useful in very sunny weather.
The university's football team are called the Oregon Ducks, and they play in the Pacific 10 conference.
Last season they finished with a record of 8-4 and qualified for the El Paso Sun Bowl.
