Liverpool stadium revealed
The winning design for Liverpool's long-awaited Stanley Park stadium has been selected at last, opening up new opportunities in LED displays.
Owners of Liverpool FC have picked HKS and Ramboll Whitbybird's 71,000-seater stadium as the chosen construction.
The designs for the £300 million stadium, set to open in August 2011, were more cost-effective than the other contenders, according to the club's owners.
"HKS has developed a more efficient design that, at the same time, is just as stunning as its original design," Tom Hicks told www.liverpoolfc.tv.
"Liverpool supporters should have high expectations for the future: a premier sporting experience at their new stadium at Stanley Park and a winning club on the pitch for years to come."
Initial plans for the arena by HKS were rejected last year by club co-owners George Gillett and Tome Hicks after running £50 million over budget.
The famous Kop end is to gain additional 5,000 seats with room for 18,500 supporters in the standalone end.
