New football scoreboard for BYU
American university Brigham Young (BYU) in Provo, Utah is to unveil its new football scoreboard.
Located in the university's LaVell Edwards Stadium, the scoreboard will have three screens, with the main LED display showing replays on a board which measures 16 feet by 23 feet, reports the Deseret News.
It will join the existing south screen, which has been in the stadium since the early 1990s, but will eclipse it in terms of display.
"The new north board has better resolution than the south board," Drew Allsup, who controls the board during games, told the newspaper.
"Now the people sitting under the video board on the south end can look north and see the same feed."
The cost of the football scoreboard has not yet been released, but was funded in part by a sponsorship deal with Nu Skin Enterprises.
As an added bonus to the project, BYU installed modern fibre-optic wiring throughout the stadium, replacing the existing copper wires.
