New LED screen for award-winning stadium

New LED screen for award-winning stadium Sports fans who attend a West Yorkshire stadium can now view the progress of games on a newly-installed LED screen.

Richard Alan Engineering was given a tight schedule in which it had to erect a frame to support a new LED screen at Galpharm Stadium, Huddersfield.

The company completed the work needed in just four weeks which allowed the screen to be unveiled on time.

Philip Armitage, operations manager for Kirklees Stadium Development, reported that it was a challenge to construct support for the LED screen between football and rugby matches.

Mr Armitage told the engineering company: "We had an extremely short time span in which to design, construct and install both the framework and the screen,

"Richard Alan Engineering rose to the challenge and installed the bespoke framework on schedule, which enabled us to install the screen on time."

The stadium seats 24,500 and in 1995 won the Royal Institute of British Architects Building of the year award.
