Sports scoreboard shines at new Hawaiian stadium
A high-tech scoreboard is is set to be installed at Roosevelt High School's new stadium in Honolulu as part of a $4.5 million construction project.
The display will help to keep fans at the Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium up to date with all the latest action and statistics across the ground.
Keith Amemiya, head of the Hawaii High School Athletic Association, and his wife, Bonny, helped fund the new screen by pledging $20,000.
Mr Amemiya said: "It's just a way of giving back to the community and supporting our public schools."
The 3,000 seater venue will be used for football, soccer and athletics events in the local community.
Rough Riders athletic director John Chung claimed the stadium will offer significantly improved facilities for athletes.
He said: "As soon as we had one big rain (the grass) got wiped out.
"Part of the project was to put in a good drainage system. So far from what I see it's working well."
