US arena updated with LED scoreboard
Louisiana State University (LSU) has updated its sports arenas with an array of LED scoreboards and displays.
The project cost approximately £4.5 million and saw the installation of LED scoreboards and displays by Daktronics.
One display is to be fitted at Tiger Stadium measures 27-feet by 80-feet and is reported to be among the largest used in a university arena.
The university's Alex Box Stadium recently received an LED video display measuring 21-feet by 36-feet in addition to two LED scoreboards.
Joe Alleva, director of athletics at the university, believes the newly installed boards will be a hit with sports fans attending matches.
"These improvements are aimed directly at providing better customer entertainment at LSU athletic events," he told LSU Sports.
"These Daktronics boards will give our fans information and entertainment with cutting edge technology. It will add a new dimension to fan enjoyment in all of our facilities."
The university has a range of additional venues fitted with the LED technology including the LSU Soccer Complex, the Maravich Centre and the Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
